Darlington Raceway to let car clubs ride

DARLINGTON, S.C. - You don't have to drive in NASCAR to get a lap around Darlington Raceway.
Track president Chris Browning said Thursday that car clubs attending the Darlington Historic Racing Festival on Labor Day weekend will get to drive a parade lap around the track "Too Tough To Tame."
The festival will feature many former NASCAR stars, including Darrell Waltrip, David Pearson, Buddy Baker and Junior Johnson. The event takes place Aug. 30-31.
Browning says the cars will be led around the 1.366 mile egg-shaped layout at the end of each day.
Darlington first hosted a NASCAR event in 1950. It's held a Sprint Cup race the past four Mother's Day weekends. Kyle Busch won the Dodge Challenger 500 at Darlington last month.
